On the Countdown

It's hard to believe we will leave in just a few days! There is a definite sense of excitement in the air. We've made our lists of things we need, and I have checked and double checked the plane and car arrangements. Unfortunately for Dad, we weren't able to book our travel on a B-17.

About all there is to do now is to get the bags packed! The biggest concern right now is whether or not we will all make it under the 50-pound luggage limit! Ha ha!

If you're awake at 7:00 on Saturday morning, think of us! We'll be on a Northwest Airlines flight out of Indianapolis.

The Planning Phase

We have been planning this trip for months, maybe even years. It's our third trip to Los Angeles, but our first to the middle and northern parts of the state. Our goal: to locate those famous movie rocks seen in many "B" Western cowboy movies. Find the rock that the Lone Ranger reared his horse in front of at the beginning of every television episode. Locate the stagecoach trail and visit the Vasquez rocks. A trip of homage to the movies of days gone by. For those who aren't so interested in rocks, there's always celebrity sightings, famous restaurants, shopping, the ocean, Yosemite, and the exploration of San Francisco to look forward to. It's a trip with a little bit for everyone.

Our plane tickets are purchased- the bag weight limit is soon to be tested- and before long, Johnny, Sarah, Rhonda, and I (my parents, my mom's best friend, and me!) will be ready to go. It's 12:00 AM on June 11--10 days to go!
